Privacy
notice.
Last updated: 27 September 2026. This notice explains how information may be handled when you use the website or contact The Pelham Arms.
Who is responsible
This website is operated for The Pelham Arms, High Street, Lewes, East Sussex BN7 1XL. Privacy questions can be sent to manager@thepelhamarms.co.uk.
Information you choose to provide
If you telephone or email the pub, the team receives the details you provide so it can answer the enquiry, manage a reservation or respond to a request. If you join the mailing list on the home page, the website records the name (if supplied), email address, the consent wording you accepted and the time of consent.
Mailing list
Mailing-list messages are sent only to people who have actively opted in. The details are used for Pelham Arms news, menus, events and offers. You can withdraw consent at any time using an unsubscribe link when available or by contacting the pub. Booking a table or contacting the pub does not by itself add you to the mailing list.
Online bookings
Online bookings are handled by Dish Cult. When you follow the booking link, Dish Cult processes the information under its own privacy notice and booking terms.
Maps and external services
On this staging website, embedded Google Maps load automatically on the Home, Contact and Visit pages. Google may receive technical information such as IP address, browser details and the referring page and applies its own privacy practices. The eventual production map and consent approach must be confirmed before launch.
Server records
The hosting provider may create routine server and security logs containing technical information such as IP address, requested page, date, time, browser and response status. These records are used to deliver, secure and diagnose the website.
How long information is kept
Enquiry and booking information is kept only for as long as reasonably needed to deal with the request, meet operational requirements and comply with legal obligations. Mailing-list contact details are kept while you remain subscribed, with limited consent or suppression records retained where reasonably needed to evidence your choice and honour opt-out requests. External platforms apply their own retention periods.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you rights to ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or objection. Contact the pub first so the request can be considered. You may also raise concerns with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
Changes
This notice may be updated when the website, booking arrangements or business practices change. The date at the top shows the latest published version.
